Happy!
I carry my digital camera with me to my German class hoping that I can take photos on the way but most often than not, I’ll go home without getting a single shot of something. This is Shanghai and there are supposed to be a lot of interesting things. I see them every day but the problem is that I am always in a rush. I have no time to take the camera from my bag, focus, and press the shutter. I am too busy. So when it’s time to look for photos to work on, I find none. As a result, I take photos of myself. Haha.

The photos were taken yesterday in the very comfort of my home office. The scrapbooking materials were downloaded for free from A Cherry on Top.
Short Update
I am so sorry about not updating this blog for a long time. As you know well, I was in a vacation for a month in Europe and after that, I got busy here in Shanghai.
We got here about a month ago and it we moved in to a few flat just recently. I got busy with unpacking our things, finding a school for me to continue my German course, and other stuff. I am actually STILL busy and I don’t think there is going to be a slow down soon.
Because it seems that life in Shanghai does not allow me to stay in front of the computer for hours like I did when we were still in Changchun, I am giving up some of my blogs. Penny Wise will be the first and My Take on Things will slowly follow. The Last Thing I Am will be turned over to a friend and as for the rest… hmm… I haven’t decided yet but I will more likely keep them.
Simpler Vector Arts
I got tired of making a vector of myself so I tried something else. The following vectors are originally my sketches. I find it easier to vectorize sketches than photos because they are much simpler. If you notice, there are not a lot of curves because I used lesser anchor points and colors are also minimal.

Another Vector Art Project
I am really enjoying doing vector projects. It’s difficult and it takes a long time but it is fun. Here is my second vector art project. It is still a picture of me but this time I tried to make it from head to toe.

For shading, I tried to use colors which are not too far from the base color. For the dress and the background, I used a papers from those of the scrap booking kits I have downloaded. Result is still far from perfect but it is already better from the previous one.
First Vector Art Project
Here is a simple vector art of my photo.
This is my very first attempt in vector illustration. The illustration already look a little bit like me so for starters, I am satisfied. The colors are awful so I still have that to learn.
According to graphic designers, Adobe Illustrator is the best software for vector illustrations. I do have the software installed in my laptop but I used Adobe Photoshop for the vector art above. Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop are very similar but since I started (and still starting) to learn Photoshop first, I think it is better to stick to it for the mean time.
From Last Year

A Thing for Spring
I am having a liking for bright colors at the moment like yellow, orange, light green, powder blue, etc. Maybe it’s because of the season. During spring, every thing that turned dull for the winter starts to get its color back. Looks like my recent scraps are reflecting this.

The person in the picture is my teacher friend, Anne. You’ll probably get tired of my face if I use it too often for all my scraps.
Our Wedding Picture 2
Here’s another digiscrap of one of our wedding pictures. I also put a nice poem beside it. I found the poem in the internet and it is authored by a person name Clair Peach.

A marriage Of Hope
Author: Clair Peach
This is your day, let’s raise a champagne toast,
when you join your life and heart to the one that matters most.
Love found you both now the rest is up to you
As you combine your hopes and dreams with those two words- I Do.
The dreams we have don’t end when we meet our love
We merely start to share them with one sent from up above
We share tradition, past and future for the best is yet to come
All starting from the special moment when you two will become one.
Just Got Lucky
These photos were taken last summer when my husband, my brother-in-law, and I went to Temple of Heaven in Beijing.

When I saw this scrapping kit, I immediately remember that Benjamin, my brother-in law, found a clover with four leaves while we were in the Temple of Heaven. I looked through our external hard drive for the pictures and when I found them, I made this piece.
Resources for Digital Scrap Booking
I spent most of my time yesterday reading about and looking at digital scrap books. I am really amazed how people can get so artistic!
I also downloaded some free digital book scrapping stuff and before I start publishing my scraps, I would like to first acknowledge these great websites for being great resources of digital scrapping materials and tips:
Digital Scrap Booking
Free Digital Scrap Booking
Tk Whimsy and Co.
Shabby Princess
The Shabby Shoppe
There were more websites about digital scrap booking but I am yet to discover them. For the meantime, I am contented to play and experiment with the free materials and tips I got.
